Vacation Mode
September 14, 2019
After busting my a$$ all spring and summer, I felt I needed some time off to recharge my batteries. Not to say that I didn’t enjoy my summer, I did; however, my computer demanded more face time.
Usually, when I vacation, I bring my computer, like a security blanket but also just in case one of my clients has a real “emergency.” This way, I can disconnect and relax but also get my technology fix and browse the net, or organize my photo’s, etc.
This vacation, I am not bringing my computer, which has me a bit nervous. Yes I have my phone, and I’ll probably bring an iPad, but to me, my laptop is my life. I am going cold turkey and am hoping I will be distracted enough by the adventure I am going on. I will be living in a 50′ Viking sportfishing boat for a week, and the thought of my computer, my work, surrounded by water freaks me out! There is not a chance I would even bring my laptop to a marina. Yes, of course, I have backups, and if anything happened, I could restore everything to a new laptop, but my feeling is why even take the chance. Also, I felt that this would be an excellent opportunity to unplug and absorb this new adventure truly.
So I am up for the challenge of going on vacation without my security blanket and experience this new exciting adventure of living on a sportfishing boat for a week!
